U10 Recreational Information

Welcome new and returning families, the St. Pete Raiders hopes you will have a great experience with us this season.

General Information for the U10 age bracket

  1. Teams:        Unlimited number can be formed
  2. Team Size: 12 players maximum per team.
  3. Practice:     6pm-7:30pm Wednesday Nights. Training will be coordinated by a Training Coach with the assistance of the U10 team Facilitators/Coaches.    Practices begin in early October.  
  4. Practice Format:   90 minutes total, 60 mins of instruction lead by the Training Coach, then Mini games to finish the practice session to use the skills learned that night. 

    Facilitators/Coaches - Can opt for an additional night of team practice(recommended for team building). These additional session can be either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 6-7:30. The Facilitator/Coach will chose the night for their additional practice where space is available. 

  5. Games:       11 games during the regular season played on Saturdays.
  6. Game Day:  7 players vs 7 players,  the goalie is one of the 7 players. There is modified offsides at this level. Game play is two 25 minute halves.
  7. Ball Size:     4
  8. GYSA Tournament: 3 games after the regular season will be played at other clubs in Pinellas County. Normally 2 games on a Saturday and 1 game on a Sunday.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

  1. November 6th First game date of season
  2. February 5th Last game date of Regular Season
  3. February 19th and 20th GYSA Jamboree games 
  4. Spring soccer starts in March 2022.   

Practice Schedule:

U10 -  Up to twice a week, from 6:00 - 7:30 Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday -  Practice begins early October. 

Practice Format:

Up to 180 mins per week , 90 with training staff and 90 with their Parent Facilitator/Coach


Team Formation:

1.   Team rosters will be drawn using the Blind Draw system per GYSA rules.  Rosters will have a maximum of 12 players per team.


League Format:

1.   Provided that we have enough players to keep our teams as an in-house ( no travel, minimum of 6 teams ) program, all games would be played at Puryear Park. If we do not have enough teams as required to keep the teams in-house ( less than 6 ), we will join the GYSA U-10 travel program. If this occurs, games will be at various locations in Southern Pinellas County with 50% of games at Puryear Park.


Game Format:

1.   Game play will be 7v7 ( 6 field players and a goal keeper ).

2.   Games played on Saturdays beginning 1st week in November.  
      2 - 25 minute periods with 5-8 halftime period. Referees will be used.
